One Perfect Detail

One Perfect Detail

Sometimes a single, beguiling moment invests a work of art with the gleam of brilliance.

Just before the Marcel Breuer Wolfson House (the one with the aluminum streamlined trailer containing the kitchen plugged into the side of the house) was sold, we were lucky enough to stop by for a farewell visit. David Diao gave our group of enthusiasts the ?A tour? of the house and studio, but there is one unforgettable detail. It defines the house as much, or more, than the quirky trailer kitchen: the cable railings are woven into the vertical cable support, eliminating all extraneous fastening hardware with a simple, winsome, insane, obsessive (and perfect) detail.
