Carin Goldberg
1953-2023

In 2004 Carin, and others, created posters for a series called Punc’t, each poster illustrating a single punctuation mark. Carin chose the ellipsis, and posited “Life…Death”.

Years later, just after Carin's birthday and just before she left for the American Academy in Rome, Luise Stauss snapped a pic of Carin wearing a Marni shirt in front of the poster.

Both of these images say more about Carin than I could in a lengthy tribute. Her genius, her humor, her taste and her smiling apparition.

Carin died on Thursday, January 19, 2023 after more than 3 1/2 years living with her brain tumor, just a day after our 36th wedding anniversary, and after more than 40 years together.

Words may not be able to express our sense of loss, but type and image, designed by Carin, are a start.

If you want a fuller, absolutely stunning experience of her work you might have a look here.

She introduced it onstage at a conference, and pretty much danced her way across the stage through the whole piece. You could, if you felt like it...dance along!

An Instagram reel of her portraits, as a companion piece to her "everything I ever designed" video is here:
