007 Taxi Offices

While the subway is the fastest way to get around The City, the Taxi offers the benefit of (relative) privacy and (relatively) reliable cell service. Often, when asked where I am calling from, I say “my little yellow office” or maybe “my rolling cubicle”. Taxis really are our mobile offices, so it makes sense to equip them as such. Now that The City has approved an entirely new Taxi design (thanks to the Design Trust for Public Space and the TLC) it's time to consider 'upgrades'. Everyone loves an upgrade.

Wi-Fi, power and USB outlets and a small fold-down desk would be perfect, and the upgrade could increase the charges added to the fare. This is one way that taxis can increase income without raising fares across the board. And one more way we can make real use of our time.
